VoiceID collaborated with The Reject Shop (TRS) to manage the service contract for distribution centres. It had an ageing fleet of RF devices, Voice units, printers and wearable devices. As part of the service contract, VoiceID proposed a three years lifecycle management program to replace the older kit. From there VoiceID won the contract to deliver DC technology at its new Perth warehouse.
In 2015, VoiceID was successful in securing the endto-end service contract to manage all store mobile devices and extended itsDC service contract. We were also invited to the innovation group at TRS which involved looking into technology that will take TRS to 2021. As part of this project, VoiceID was appointed to manage all technology that integrates into TRS's purpose-built flagship distribution centre in Truganina Victoria. At any given time VoiceID had two dedicated team members and five additional team members supporting WMS integration into sortation system, DC operation workflow design, selection of technology, Solution UAT and post go-live support.
The project was delivered on time and on budget and TRS now completes a workload which previously took two shifts in 7 hours.
VoiceID also started to look into improvements in the store network by successfully developing an Android voice solution which improves stock management within a store. This store solution was the first Android voice deployment in the APAC region, and we continue to further develop it while TRS goes through the evaluation of next-generation hardware to replace ageing store devices. Our store solution not only presents the voice commands but provides additional information on the device screen enabling team members to complete tasks quicker. It’s simple to use with minimum training required
Furthermore, VoiceID worked with hardware manufacturers to design a 21-inch android base device for inter-store communication. The platform provided store staff real-time visibility to the latest information from HQ and the store network. Team members use this device for training and development.
